Studying Phase 2, I could feel that this lecture was quite well related to Phase 1, and that each period was also step by step well related to how to write. Phase 1 is more about non-academic writing, whereas phase 2 is more about academical writing. In order to write an academic article, I had to set a subject for the first stage, find various materials for the second stage, accumulate background knowledge. In the tired step, I needed to accumulate and summarize the date by analyzing them according to my subject. And finally, I had to make my own argument using relevant data on the subject. Brainstorms were useful in the process of setting a first-phase theme. My own subject was set by the ‘brainstorm’ through the reading material of Phase 1, and the theme was embodied through ‘Thesis statement’. In the process of searching for second-phase materials, it was possible to search through library materials. The work of ‘Rhetoric Precis’ and ‘Synthesis’ became able to analyze and summarize the data accumulated in three stages, and through Source Evaluation, I associate the data with my subject and further identify the association between the data to make my logic a little stronger. In the final stage, I was able to set the direction of writing through proposal, and we were able to add more credibility to the data through MLA cite work. This process allowed a higher level of writing compared to phase 1. If I continue this type of writing in your future college life, you will be able to write more quality and persuasive writing.
